WESTERN CULTURE: FIRST CULTURE OF WORLD
Mainly culture is divided on the basis of religion, food travel, custom etc. But except that in present day there are two type of
culture is normally available one is ancient culture and another is modern
culture. in these two type of culture includes religion, food travel, custom etc. there is no other way to
calculate the culture without religion,
food travel, custom, arts and lifestyle
etc.
The word "Western Culture" has derived and describe
the culture of European countries like UK, France, Italy etc as well as those
that have been heavily influenced by European immigration, such as the US (United
States). Western culture has its roots in the Classical Period of the
Greco-Roman era and the rise of Christianity in the 14th century. Other drivers
of Western culture include Latin, Germanic and Hellenic ethnic and
linguistic groups. Today, the influences of Western culture can be seen in
almost every country in the world.
PRE-HISTORY
The concept of
culture has started when the civilization has stared. The history was started
prior to the civilization and the history has not written but after the
civilization, history has in form of written script. The term “PRE-HISTORIC” refers to the period before
civilization or the history which has in form of written script. During
pre-history the civilized society has neither known the writing process nor they
have any particular tradition or culture. The history says that during the
pre-history period, the individual
intension was how to exist and fought for his / her food. The society of the
pre-history was called hunter.
The oldest cave
paintings known are about 40,800 years old made by our species, Homosapiens.The
Neolithic revolution, one of the most profound developments in all of human
history, occurs during the Prehistoric Era.
The importance of the
culture with regard to the pre-history has no relevant except old stone age
because till date either historian or any archeologist / scientist has unable
to discovered any material which can disclose the culture of the pre-history
period.
The human being started
the history by its pre-history with the Neolithic Era prior to 5000 BC. This
period has famous because of Agricultural Revolution. And during the Nomadic
period, the human settled their life as farmers in permanent settlement on the
bank of River. The said settlement gradually developed and the concept of
civilization generated from the period after 4,000 BC. Like Mesopotamia, Indus
valley, Egypt Mayan, Chinese Sumerian etc.
ANCIENT HISTORY (Prior to 4th Century)
The history of culture has begin or
started from the period of first civilization. The first civilization is called
Sumer civilization in 4000 BC and subsequently it was called southern
Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia civilization was existed between 4000 BC to 540 BC.
Therefore, this period includes visual culture
like paintings, sculpture, architecture and social traditions. This is
when our ancestors learned to farm and domesticate animals, allowing them to
give up their nomadic ways, and settle down to build cities and civilizations.
The ancient
civilization period includes the Mesopotamia civilization, ancient Egypt
civilization, ancient Greece civilization, the Etruscans, Romo
civilization.
The ancient Mesopotamia
civilization and Sumerian civilization started the concept of culture but the
first cultural revolution occurred during the Romo civilization and Greece
Civilization in the western part of the world.
The Mesopotamia
civilization down failed during 640 BC with the Babylonia down failed. And the
raised the head of Romo and Greece civilization. Most important is that the
ancient civilization period discovered the Bronze and Iron metal.
The concept of
worship and religion started during the Romo and Greece civilization period.
The Roman were worship a large number of Roman Gods like Jupiter, Juno, Minerva
and mars. The burden of worship was transferred to priest who was responsible
for the ritual.
The Greece religion
developed form 9th or 8th BC. They believed that highest
Mountain of the Greece was the home of the Gods. The Greece or Greeke culture enlarged
by Alexander the Great during period 336 to 320 BC.
These two ancient
civilization enlarged entire Europe and America ( western part of world).
Greeke culture had more influence over the America.
The ancient Romo and
Greece civilization is recognized with the birth of Western philosophy,
mathematics, science and democracy. The Romans in turn created an empire that
extended across most of Europe and all the lands that surround the
Mediterranean Sea. They were expert administrators and engineers and they saw
themselves as the inheritors of the great civilizations that came before them,
particularly, Greece and Egypt.
The father of the
western culture is Rome. When we think about Rome, the name of Augustus who was
the first ruler of Rome, Constantine who was the first ruler to converted to
Christianity , Trajan, and of course Julius Caesar come to our mind. The role
of these persons is very vital and changed the entire society during that
period.
Roman civilization has more influence in
religion issues. The new religion taken birth during the Roman Empire with the
birth of Lord Jesus during 2th BC. The reason of down fallen of Roman Empire is
religion due to the death of lord Jesus. After the death of Lord Jesus, the new
religion concept generated which is now called as “CHIRSTIAN”. At present day,
the population of Christian is on top of the list. The Christian religion (tradition,
believe lifestyle, food) enlarged due to
the follower of the Lord Jesus. The New demonstration books were
written by Christians in the first
century AD is called as Bible.
MEDIEVAL
ERA (4th Century to 14th Century)
Baghdad is the birthplace of mathematical concepts as
transformative as the common zero and our modern-day “Arabic” numerals during
the Islamic Golden Age. The Baghdad city was founded in 762 (situated between
two rivers) as the capital of the ĘżAbbasid dynasty and the most
significant role in the field of cultural centre of Arab for the next 500
years.
Iraqi has a long past history which is linked with the culture
of Sumerians, Babylonians, Assyrians, and Ancient Persians. but after the
new religion came to popularity in the name of Islamic which changed the entire
area in the field of religion and spiritual culture. therefore the culture of
the Iraqi is ancient culture.
Arabian state is also the birth place of many music instruments
which was created the revolution in the field of Music and that revolution
expanded all over world.
During the Medieval
period one major religion taken birth and now days it takes major role in the
field of religion i.e. Islamic religion. The 6th century of the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 632
C.E., Islam had become an empire that stretched from Spain across North Africa,
the Middle and Near East, to India.
Medieval Islam was a
leader in science and technology and established some of the world’s great
centers of learning. Islamic culture played an important role and translating
ancient Greek texts at a time when much of the knowledge created during the
ancient world was lost.
The colonial system
started during this Medieval Era which lead the western culture to eastern part
and tried to rule against the eastern culture. The western culture have more
influence and changed the entire eastern part. The colonial system like
Portugal, British, France and many other European countries. Western culture is
suitable for spiritual life. This culture always changeable as per the suitable
of a society therefore it is not trustable.
