Famous Cave Temple of the world: Kaliasanath Temple

 


Kaliasa temple is a wonderful temple and the arts and architect surprised to all person. Tourist like this place due to the Arts and ancient. This temple was declared as world heritage site in the year 1989.  

The Kaliasa temple is not like as Ajanta, the appearance of the single belief rather it is the product of the three major religions of Ancient India.

The archeologist as well as historian opinioned that the human civilization know the process of construction of big building and temple which is evident from the Indus valley Civilization that means during 3300 BC to 1300 BC.

The Kalishnath Temple which is known as Kalish Temple or Ellora Temple.  This temple is one of the Cave temple among list of cave temple in world. This temple is called in name of “KALIASANATH TEMPLE” because when first time it was discovered, it was look like as Kalish temple at Himalaya( covered with while granite powder).

This temple is very popular not only due to its beauty, Arts and ancientness but also mysterious stories and make surprise to all. This temple is situated at Ellora, in district Aurangbad, state of Maharastra.

Material- single block of excavated stone (it is Monolithic structure)

CONSTRUCTION

The construction of Kaliasa temple always goes the credits to the then Rashtrakuta King ( Krishna-I). the archeologist and historian are not confirmed that who made this temple. But as per the script and books the then King of Rashtrakuta Krishna-I was the builder. Still they have doubt over it for the reason that the archeologist and historian are thinking that its age is more than what they are thinking. But in the temple one script (written on stone) shows about the King Krishna-I (king of Rashtrakuta)

The construction is a Monolithic structure. It is very difficult to say that how many  worker was engaged to complete this work. Now days it is very difficult to do this time of temple but the worker of the then knew the developed technology and used unique type of creativity idea. It is very difficult to find this type of temple. 

The construction of the temple was from top site to bottom. The first stage of work was very simple. It consisted in excavating out of the hillside three huge trenches at right angles cut down vertically to the level of the base of the hill. The main body of the temple occupies a four-sided figure.

According to the archeologist that the excavation of cutting stone approximately 4,00,000 ton. It is very surprised that such quantity of excavation of stone is not possible.




TEMPLE

The Kaliasa Temple is a unique creative achievement and a master piece of the creative genius of man. If one give emphasis to the work of excavating the rock and the Kailasa temple as use of develop technology. The temple is famous due to its arts and mysterious stories. The construction period of the temple was 756  AD to 773 AD ( 27 years).

The Kailasa temple resolves into four main parts 1. Body of the temple, 1. Entrance gateway, 3. An intermediate nandi shrine and 4. Cloisters surrounding the courtyard. There are two 51 ft high standing pillars and both pillers are each  side of the nandi shrine.

Entrance gateway:- this is the first part of the temple which consisted with two stair building and both side have beautiful arts. At entrance has the statue of Goddess Ganga and Jamuna .

Main building:- this is the second part and called as main temple. in the second part described the hindu religious and spiritual things.

Nandi:- this is the third part of the temple and situated in the middle part of the temple. the elephant statue normally found in the middle part and in main temple also. Anyone can fell that the elephants are carried out the whole temple.  

The monument of the temple started from the top of the mountain but a hole in the ground was dug around the temple on the sloping side of the hill. The temple stands in the middle of the hole on the ground.

The civilization who were constructed the temple might be more advanced in technology. This temple is situated at Ellora cave and it is one among 34 caves. Normally temples were / are constructed by jointing the several stone but this temple constructed on one stone. Therefore it is unique temple. This temple gives the basic idea about the Hindu Culture and myths.

 

 



This is not a simple temple. The archeologists department and geological department gave opinion in the temple have secret tunnel which goes to the underground city. The said tunnels are closed for common people's. They are thinking that the   said tunnels goes to one civilization which has underground due to natural calamity. 

 

WHAT IS THE CAVE NO-16

 

 

In ellora cave there are 34 caves but cave no- 16 is dedicated to Lord Shiva and this cave is famous as kaliasa temple. This spot is most important spot of Hindu culture. The architectures described in detail about the three Hindu Gods in the temple. The lord Bhrama the creator of hole universe, Lord Vishnu is the caretaker of hole Universe and lord Shiva is the distortive in nature.

According to historical book, “there were 7000 ergonomics workers engaged to complete the work and it was taken 100 years”. This temple described the details regarding the religion of Hindu and Hindu’s Gods. everybody are surprised to see the arts on stones.

GODS

Goddess ganga and Jamuna statue is at entrance, statue of Vasa Sage (author of Mahabharat) and Balmik Sage (author of Ramayan), statue of God Kubera is at both site of gate, statue of Goddes Durga and God ganesh at end of the temple. the statue of Goddess laxmi is situated in a small room. The statue of Kamdeve with his five arrows on the wall of the temple. the said five arrows shows the five element of the life.   The wall is also narrated about the Lord Vishna and Shiva. The story of Ramayan has been described in the south wall of the temple like as the statue of Gods, Ravan, Shive, Nandi, parbati, natraj Shive, Ravan try to take the Kaliasa hill,

The Story of Mahabharat has been described at the North gate on top and described the childhood of Lord Krishna on bottom. The statue of Vishnu in various avtar also described. In the main room of the temple one can found the Goddess Ganga and Jamuja and on the main sit yoni-Ling is situated. The Kaliasa Temple is created on Vastu Shilpa which gives the idea of Vastu Sastra.
