 India has been standing since ancient times and the nature and atmosphere is very friendly. Many travelers come to India either to discover new places or things or to enjoy the best, attractive place and magical phenomenon. This is just in a simple meaning but there are many other reasons to come to India. The three sides of India are occupied by sea and Ocean and only in the North part if occupied by Pakistan and Himalayan.

India is full of surprises from breathtaking herbal phenomena to age-vintage structures. Apart from ancient and historic locations, India additionally houses a few precise places that display a few atypical phenomena. We are speaking about locations in India that glow in the dark.

 

          The surprising part is that did you know that there are places in India that glow in the dark?

This question takes one to Ramayana while Lord Hanuman went to Himalaya to search “BISALYAKARANI” medicine, Lord Hanuman found that the entire hill was lighting during night hours. From Ramayana, the interesting part was lighting during night. And one film like “AVATAR” is one Hollywood movie where the director pointed out that the world has some place where the trees are lighting during night. This may create some imagination in our mind but it's true. Some places in India where one can find the light in the forest during night hours.

Disney has built a park like as "WORLD OF PANDORA" where the visitor may get the knowledge of Avatar movie and finds the glowing trees collected from different places in world.

 

1.   PURUSHWADI FOREST, MAHARASHTRA

Purushwadi Forest is a tribal village which is located 180 Km from Mumbai to Nasiki and is also located in the forest of western Ghats in district of Maharashtra between Kurlundi river and Mula river. The travelers / tourists come to this location during the months of May and June. In these two months are the breeding seasons of fireflies for the trees dotted with these fireflies, dazzling with blinking patterns as they try to seduce their mates and the entire forest glows for them. Such types of insects are called Lampyridae.

There are many travel spots in western Ghats which attracts large numbers of travelers but this forest has one speciality that due to direflies the entire forest glow for that reason many travelers come to this place to see  and enjoy the magical night.  These two months are called the bright night of this forest. Other places of western ghats are Rajmachi, Mulshi, Purushwadi, Bhimashankar Ratanwadi etc.

 

2.   JUHU BEACH, MAHARASHTRA

Juhu Beach in Maharashtra is one of the best and famous beaches. During the day this beach is like other beaches around the world but at night, this beach is different from other beaches of the world. The travelers and tourists can feel and see the blue light waves ( blowing beach). The travelers who visit after 9 pm, can see the electric blue lighting on the beach. This is happening due to Microorganism Noctiluca Scintillans for that the blue color light generates. The members of the Soho House, Mumbai can enjoy the magical bright night.

 

3.   BETALBATIM BEACH, GOA

Goa is famous for its beach and the atmosphere which attracts a large number of tourists but other some place is there which is hidden from tourist but who are known the hidden place they can enjoy the time. One of the beaches is Betalbatim beach that glows in the dark. The Betalbatim Beach which is located in South Goa and is known for pristine white sands, best for dolphin spotting and watching breathtaking sunsets. This beach has some different qualities that means this beach glows in the dark due to bio luminescence in its waters. The large number of tourists enjoy the magical bright night on the beach.

 

4.   MHADEI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY IN GOA

This is not only a place in Goa where tourists can enjoy the magical bright night but also there is another location named Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary In Goa. This location is popular due to illuminating Mushrooms and these mushrooms are called electric Mushrooms. They grow on decaying logs, twigs, and stumps. This wildlife sanctuary is located in Swapnagandha Valley and also 55 Km from Balgaum to Chorla Ghat and north-east Panjim in Goa. The best time to enjoy the magical bright night is during monsoon. Mushrooms illuminate the entire forest at night during monsoon and in this period this wildlife Sanctuary is opened for the tourist.

 

5.   WEST JAINTIA HILLS, MEGHALAYA

Meghalaya is one of the best for travelers and the natural view from the hill tops, greenery forest, stream from hills attracts more travelers. This is the border between China and India. one of the forests located in west Jaintia Hills which is called bright night forest of Meghalaya due to electric Mushrooms. This new and unique species of mushroom has the qualight to glow during night and the entire forest becomes lighting due to the glow of this mushroom for that reason this mushroom is called electric mushrooms.  The tourist can feel like a movie or plastic mushroom which has such a magical light.

 

6.   MATTU BEACH, KARNATAKA

Some parts of Goa, Mumbai and Karnataka beaches are illuminating and it is another beach of India which glows during night. This beach is calming and quite popular for picnics, walks and sunset views and at night, the water body glows due to a microorganism. A large number of travelers come to this beach to enjoy the magical waves during the night. This magical wave gives the best scenario and attracts the tourists also. the sea sparkle, which is a free-living, marine-dwelling species that emits light when disturbed

 

 

 

7.   BANGRAM BEACH, LAKSHADWEEP ISLAND

In the list of    glow beaches, Bangram Beach at Lakshadweep Island is one of them. Travelers go to this beach after sunset and enjoy the surrounding beach with illuminating the waves and beach sides. Bangram beach, Lakshadweep Island is located on the Arabian Sea one of the most unusual beaches in India known for the phenomenon of bioluminescence. At night, the beach waters get illuminated with the emitted blue light, making the water look like a sea of stars.

 

 

8.   KALAPATHAR BEACH OF HAVELOCK ISLAND, ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS

This is one of the glowing beaches in the list of beaches in India. Due to the phenomenon of bioluminescence, this beach becomes unique and the sea sparkles, which is a free-living, marine-dwelling species that emits blue light when disturbed that moves with the water. Havelock Island in the Andamans is less crowded than Port Blair for that reason this beach has less light pollution from the shore.
