A LONG DRIVE CUTTACK TO PURI (SRI LORD
JAGANNATH TEMPLE) VIA KONARK (SUN TEMPLE): MARINE DRIVE
In Orissa, there was a lock
down due to COVID-19 pandemic situation. The lockdown was continued nearly 6-7
month. In such scenario we were locked ourself so many days. When the
pandemic situation became normalized I planned to go on a long drive.
On 27th December,
2020…….
At 7.00 AM- all we were ready
to go on a long drive. For which I told my friend to give his car to me. In his
car me, my wife and my baby son (18 months). My intention was to return on the
same day.
Therefore my road direction was
Phulnakhar to Nimapada road which takes 1 hour. The road condition is average.
I choose this road because it is very less distance than National Highway.
We reached at Konark with in 2
hour. We had taken our food and in car we were taken out breakfast.
The Archeology department
reserves this locale for which ticket is necessary for entry. The entry fee is
Rs. 40/- per person and no entry fees for under 15 years. Therefore our entry
fee was Rs. 80/-
Due to heavy fogs,
the entire environment was under covered. Prior to this drive, I had so much
time in a casual manner. But this time particularly I go there to see the Arts
and architecture.
The whole temple was in Kalinga
Architecture style. On the wall of the temple is designed with meaning full
arts. If someone deeply sees the wall of the temple he / she may get the
culture of that time. Even that day Orissa / Odisha/ Kalinga had links with
other states like Egypt, Africa and other states.
MARINE DRIVE
CHANDRABHAGA
It took 2 to 3 hour to cover
the whole Konark temple. Thereafter we went to See beach ( Chandrabhaga). In
this place the sea is deep so very rare people are ready to go inside.
Nowadays, Chandrabhaga has become a tourist place due to demand of Sun temple.
On that day so many people were there as nothing happened and no pandemic
situation has even occurred. We waited there 1 hour and round here and there to
enjoy nature. The distance from the sun temple to Chandrabhaga is 5 Km.
This
place is very popular due to the beach and many couples come here for their
fun. The entire Marine drive road was covered by Jhau tree but due to the last cyclone
the entire forest was destroyed. Nowadays the entire beauty of nature is
destroyed.
BALIHARACHANDI TEMPLE
Thereafter we went to
Baliharachandi temple. On the way we saw that many people were coming for a
picnic. In this marine drive, Indian Oil Corporation is made the accommodation
(resort) for travelers which cost is very high and on the next site is also
taken by some other person and is made a hotel in the name of the Lotus. Near
the lotus hotel, some local people made some interesting fun things like water
rides, bot systems etc.
This place is very attractive
and many people were there for a snapshot. I also took some snaps to put in
this travel story.
Within 45 nim. we reached
Baliharchandi temple. On the back side of the temple, the local people also
have made some interesting and enjoyable rides for travelers which attract the
travelers so much.
This temple is also a very old temple, for which it has popular in local area as well as in State level also.
BALI KAPILESWAR
This temple is nearly 10 Km
from Baliharchandi Temple. Lord Shiva is worshipped in this temple and
according to the local people, this temple has some myth and whoever asks any wish
that must be fulfilled. The temple has some sand and this sand has the power to
cure any dangerous disease. Even the medicine may not cure the disease but this
sand can cure. This Shiva temple is a very old temple and some local people say
that it is nearly 1000 years old temple.
PURI
The road trip from Konark to
Puri took nearly 4 hour due to the above place and we have attended all the
above places. Puri is the substitute place instead of Goa. In Orissa, Puri is
similar to Goa.
Lord Jagannath Temple is famous
in the whole world for which this place is very spiritual for Hindus and a fun
place for couples. Bada-danda is only one place in Orissa which is famous due
to its shape.
Due to COVID pandemic
situation, the Government imposed restrictions on entry into the temple so we
faced problems and could not go inside the temple.
We went to the east gate and
saw the “PATITAPABAN” gods. In this pandemic situation the Puri fully changes
and the Government has made some gardens in place of MATHA.
In this present scenario if
anyone comes to Puri from the Bada-danda site then they may face problems. We
had entrance from the back side of the temple via Loknath Road.
